The Croatia national football team is searching for new talents among the diaspora in North America. In cooperation with Croatia Juniors and Croatia Cleveland Soccer Club, the Croatian Football Federation organized a four-day camp for young footballers. The camp was held from June 12 to 15 at Mentor High School near Cleveland, Ohio. A total of 117 young footballers, boys and girls born between 2010 and 2014, from all over North America, participated in the camp. The goal of the camp was to discover talents among young people of Croatian heritage who could potentially represent Croatia in international competitions. The camp was led by Croatia Juniors Director Mario Grgic, and was supported by senior HNS representatives and professional trainers. During the four days, players participated in three evaluation sessions, where coaches assessed their skills, understanding of the game, and overall potential. The final day of the camp was marked by a closing ceremony, which included photo opportunities, the presentation of diplomas to participants, and a small goals tournament. The atmosphere was one of celebration and pride, as families, coaches, and the community came together to support the next generation of Croatian footballers. Two special guest speakers provided inspiration to the young athletes. Victoria Safradin from Cleveland shared her journey to the Croatian women's national team, which she recently joined for crucial European Championship qualifiers. Adrian Hrvojevic, originally from Chicago, spoke about progressing through Croatia's youth national teams and now playing at the U19 level for Hajduk Split in Croatia. The camp concluded with a traditional Croatian community gathering – the Sveti Ante picnic. The event began with Mass, followed by an adult small goals football tournament and a bocce tournament. Guests enjoyed a variety of Croatian dishes, including cevapi and čobanac, along with live music and a warm atmosphere. The success of the camp highlights the continued strength and passion of the Croatian football community abroad and reflects the HNS's commitment to nurturing talent within the diaspora. The Croatia national football team will continue its search for new talents to ensure the future of Croatian football. In cooperation with Croatia Juniors and the HNS, the team will continue to organize camps and promote Croatian football among the diaspora. This will help to discover new talents and secure the future of the Croatia national football team.
