The Croatian national football team has unveiled its new home and away kits designed by Adidas. The team will debut the shirts in the upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures.
The unveiling took place on September 15, with the kits immediately available for purchase through the official HNS online store. Alongside the match shirts, Adidas released a wider Croatian National Team collection including shorts, socks, training wear, and casual apparel.
Home kit with Glagolitic script
The home shirt, in the iconic red and white checkerboard pattern, features a distinctive cultural detail. The checkerboard design incorporates letters from the Glagolitic script, the oldest known Slavic alphabet. A special back-neck sign-off spells 'Croatia' in Glagolitic, creating a fusion of modern sport technology and deep national heritage.
Croatian Football Federation President Marijan Kustić highlighted the symbolic importance of this approach. "These jerseys are much more than just innovative football kits and bold aesthetic statements." Kustić said.
Away kit inspired by lace
The away kit departs from the classic colours, built on a deep blue base. Its main graphic element is inspired by Croatia's rich tradition of lace craftsmanship, with a delicate, detailed pattern covering the front. The neckline features 'HRVATSKA' in a cross-stitch-inspired typeface, further emphasising the link to handmade artistry.
Both kits are manufactured using adidas' CLIMACOOL+ technology. This includes engineered stretch fabrics with 3D body mapping for enhanced ventilation, breathability, and moisture management. Perforated three-stripe panels and strategically placed mesh zones improve airflow and comfort during intense matches.
Debut in a key period
The team will wear the new kits for the first time during a key competitive period. Croatia currently sits second in their World Cup qualifying group with six points from three games, just one point behind leaders England. The next challenge is an away Nations League fixture against the Czech Republic on September 26, which will be the first chance to see the new kits in action.
The team's form from the last five official matches shows three wins and two defeats, with a sequence of results reading LWWLW. The most recent loss was against Portugal on July 2, but the team secured important victories prior to that.
