The Croatia national football team attended the promotional event 'Croatia in the Game' at the AKA Alexandria hotel, where numerous esteemed guests, partners, and media gathered. The main guests included one of the most respected American actors John Malkovich, who had a leading role in the new promotional film for Croatian tourism, Minister of Tourism and Sports Tonči Glavina, Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristijan Staničić, President of the Croatian Football Federation Marijan Kustić, players of the Croatian national football team led by coach Zlatko Dalić, legendary Croatian basketball player Toni Kukoč. As part of the program, the new promotional film for Croatian tourism was premiered, featuring the famous world actor of Croatian origin John Malkovich, who became a Croatian citizen in May. Zlatko Dalić addressed the crowd and thanked them for their support, emphasizing that this is an additional motivation for the team. The players and coach did not stay too long at the event, but there was enough time for many selfies and autographs. Perišić and Modrić spent some time talking to basketball legend Kukoč, and the entire team took photos with Malkovich. Croatian Football Federation President Marijan Kustić said he was pleased with such events that connect Croatia and the Croatian diaspora, thanking the organizers for the entire event. Minister of Sports and Tourism Tonči Glavina emphasized that this is a special evening where numerous connections between Croatia and the USA are celebrated. Director of the Croatian Tourist Board Kristijan Staničić emphasized that tonight we celebrate Croatian-American friendship, as well as the Croatian national team that has made us proud many times. He noted that the USA and Croatia have shared strong ties in tourism and sports for years, recalling the first match of the 'Vatreni', played in October 1990 against the American national team. He also mentioned several Croatian athletes who have achieved great careers in the USA, such as Krešimir Ćosić, Dražen Petrović, Toni Kukoč, mixed martial arts legend Stipe Miočić, and Bill Belichick, the legendary NFL coach. American interest in Croatia as a tourist destination is growing every year. The USA is our most important market, and Croatia has become a favorite destination for American tourists.
